Hello, parents and Hooks residents. I earned my BS in English from TAMUT, this is my 13th year teaching, my 6th year as a Hornet and my 5th year at Hooks High School. I moved to Hooks in 2016 and love the community.
I try to utilize practical, real world examples when teaching so students can connect the lessons at school to their lives outside the classroom. I give ample time in class to complete most assignments and accept late work at full credit for a week after an absence. If a student fails an assignment, they have a week after the failing grade is posted to request to redo for a better grade. A basic overview of the classes I teach is posted below, and detailed lesson plans are posted weekly.
Please feel free to email me if you have questions or concerns at fergusona@hooksisd.net or visit with me during my conference period which is 1:10 - 2:40 on "A" days.
It is the policy of Hooks ISD not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex or handicap in its vocational programs, services or activities as required by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended.
Hooks ISD will take steps to assure that lack of English language skills will not be a barrier to admission and participation in all educational and vocational programs.
